About

Ross is a geologist currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the ANU Research School of Earth Sciences. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Geology from James Cook University (Townsville, QLD) and PhD from The Australian National University (Canberra, ACT). His research focusses on the formation of critical and precious metal deposits, aiming to use a deeper understanding of fundamental geological processes of ore formation to better direct efficient and environmentally responsible mineral exploration. Ross has been involved in the discovery of numerous critical and previous metal deposits across Australia, including the Yin REE deposits in WA, for which he was awarded the 2023 AMEC prospector of the year. He has worked extensively in project generation and mineral exploration in Australia and globally, and if he’s not in his office at RSES, is out in the bush kicking rocks somewhere.
