Frank Jotzo is Professor of Environmental Economics and Climate Change Economics at the Australian National University's Crawford School of Public Policy, and director of the Centre for Climate and Energy Policy. He leads research on decarbonisation, clean energy transition, and economics and policy instruments for emissions reductions, with a focus on Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Current research focusses on green commodities including iron, energy and industrial transition pathways and the role of economic policies for decarbonisation and trade. Prof Jotzo has advised several Australian governments, including as lead of Australia’s Carbon Leakage Review for the federal government, and earlier as principal economist for the Garnaut climate change reviews. He is a member of the NSW Net Zero Commission and chairs the Queensland government’s Clean Energy Expert Panel. He has been in senior author roles with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for the last two IPCC assessment reports and has contributed to international scientific review and policy advisory processes.
