About
Hayley Channer is Director of the Economic Security Program with the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. Hayley works at the intersection of economic policy and national security and brings expertise on trade and tariffs, industrial policy, critical mineral supply chains, and public-private partnerships. She regularly convenes government, industry, and academia to bridge gaps between different stakeholders to arrive at policy solutions.
Hayley has held Visiting Fellowships with the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre (SDSC) at the Australian National University and East West Center in Washington DC. She is an alum of the US State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and the Australia-America Young Leadership Dialogue (AAYLD). Hayley previously served on the Advisory Board of the Asia-Pacific Development, Diplomacy, & Defence Dialogue (AP4D) and the University of Western Australia Defence & Security Institute. Hayley has a Master of International Relations from the University of Queensland and a Certificate in Public Policy from the London School of Economics.
